The Rectory Campus is the home of the Outreach Tuition Plus service.
Outreach Tuition Plus offers access to education to children temporarily unable to attend full time school because of illness, exceptional circumstances or the unavailability of a suitable school place.
Tuition is a short-term intervention - it is not an alternative to full-time school. Learning is personalised and delivered on a 1.1 basis. The goal of tuition is to prepare the student for a successful transition into a full-time education. Students referred to us range from reception age through to 16.
Tuition may take place online, at the Rectory Campus or in the student’s home. Students may have a hybrid offer involving part time attendance at their school.
The Rectory campus has been specifically designed for tuition and is a purposefully quiet and peaceful environment. Students have access to 1.1 learning spaces, a sensory space, an art space, food technology space and space for physical movement.
If Tuition is online our school home support officer will make regular welfare visits to see the child in person.
Tuition is reviewed at regular intervals to assess the readiness of the student to return to full time education. Where medical conditions persist, professional opinion is sought and parents will be required to provide appropriate certification or evidence of ongoing conditions.
Referrals to Outreach Tuition Plus are made through one of three pathways:
