What to expect at KS3 and KS4

At Key Stage 3 students will:

  • Take part in structured PSHEE careers lessons which encourage students to identify their strengths and areas for improvement, think about their skills and qualities and future career options.
  • Attend workshops and assemblies led by external organisations/speakers to look at options available for post 16.
  • Students work towards skills builder targets in lessons to develop their employability skills such as communication, teamwork, problem solving, decision making and leadership.
  • All students can attend our careers fair that we hold on site at school – they will be able to talk to a number of local FE Colleges and Training Providers.
     

At Key Stage 4 students will:

  • Students work towards skills builder targets in lessons to develop their employability skills such as communication, teamwork, problem solving, decision making and leadership.
  • All students can attend our careers fair that we hold on site at school – they will be able to talk to a number of local FE Colleges and Training Providers. 
  • We hope that our Year 11 students will take part in work experience activities.
  • Attend an impartial careers interview with an independent careers advisor (1:1 and group sessions)
    Visit Colleges and Universities.
  • Work closely with our transition team who will help students to apply for colleges/apprenticeships/complete CV’s and will be offered continuous support Post 16.
