KS4 Stubbers Residential: Building resilience and independence

From Friday the 29th November to Sunday the 1st December, Key Stage 4 students from MPC campus took part in an unforgettable residential trip to Stubbers Adventure Centre. As the final major trip for KS4, the weekend offered students the chance to step away from their routines, challenge themselves, and develop vital personal and social skills.

The focus of the trip was on building resilience, self-care, and teamwork. Through outdoor and adventurous activities, students strengthened relationships with staff and their peers, gained independence and embraced stepping out of their comfort zones!

Activities such as laser tag, dirt boarding, and team challenges encouraged collaboration and gave students opportunities to try new experiences. One student summed up the trip: ‘The best trip, top tier with Hannah, Nathan, and Rob. It was good to get out of our comfort zone, and I never would have had the chance to do the stuff I did, like laser tag and dirt boarding.’

Another memorable and enriching experience for KS4 students, the Stubbers residential left a lasting impact, helping them grow in confidence, resilience, and independence.
