
The wonderful world famous author Sarah Winman came to visit the Mayesbrook Park Campus and Erkenwald Campus on Wednesday 8th March. Sarah shared with us her journey to becoming an author and also the process of writing of her most recent book, called Still Life, the instant Sunday Times bestseller and BBC Between the Covers Book Club pick.
Sarah has won accolades from her peers including the author of When God was a Rabbit and Tin Man, who said: 'Still Life is a big-hearted story of people brought together by love, war, art and the ghost of E.M. Forster' and Rachel Joyce, the author of Miss Benson's Beetle, to said 'A bear-hug of a book' Rachel Joyce, author of Miss Benson's Beetle
Cathy Stygal Mayesbrook Park Headteacher said: 'Sarah's visit to the school was a great opportunity to talk to students about reading for pleasure and that reading wasn't just about school! She was such an inspiration and I'm sure some students will now find a book they'll enjoy reading.'
