On Friday 11th October 2019 students from Mayesbrook Park campus from across years 10 and 11 visited the Sir John Cass Faculty of Art, Architecture and Design in central London to experience life at University and at the same time encourage them consider the possibilities of higher education. Students were shown around the University by the University’s Widening Participation Officer, Renzo Veschini and current MA students.
Mayesbrook Park campus students had an amazing day and commented:
Maddie: ‘I enjoyed the drawing package ‘Sketch Up’ on the computer where I was able to create an architectural city. I also enjoyed finding out about university life and fees.’
Yahya: ‘I really enjoyed the trip to London Metropolitan University. I found out about how the university works. We were shown a collection of chairs that amazed me – some of the were more than 100 years old! I’d love to go again, it was an opportunity of a lifetime and I highly recommend it for anyone who wants to go.’
Knoxroy: ‘I enjoyed the Cass Trip we were shown around the Faculty of Architecture and found out about how university life works”
Hamza: ‘I was really looking forward to the trip the Faculty of architecture, it was amazing. There was so much to it and I learnt a lot.’
Anas: ‘I really enjoyed the trip. It was very beneficial and I learnt lots of facts about university life. I would like to go one day in the future to study business and design.’
Bradley: ‘I especially enjoyed working on Sketch Up, when I got to design my own house with a flying car! That trip made me think about what I want to do at college next year.’
